A Sound of Thunder A Sound of Thunder - Atlacatl

Through the sea of salt and darkness
Came a legion with a cause
Bringing iron, steel and gunfire
And the white man’s twisted laws

With nobility and civility
Europe would see this land controlled
Demanding obedience
Our gods and our gold
Our whole world would be sold

But in the highest hottest mountains
We resisted, we rebelled
We forged a revolution
To resist destroy this foreign hell

There lived a chieftain
Who would never be tamed

Led by this mighty warrior
Both predator and man
We slaughtered foolish foreign men
Who did not know the land

And though he’s long since dead
His legend still remains

The blood of the gods
In the flesh of a man
With a soul too ancient to burn
We must always remember
The strength and the call
Of the blood of the gods
That lives on in us all
Blood of the gods
That lives on in us all

As the white man’s guns
And glistening steel
Cut through our shields
Our chieftain saw a future
That their butchery revealed

An unstoppable invasion
Blood rained from the sky

So he scaled a great volcano
And rather than be shamed
Atlacatl swore to the gods
And dove into the flames

A searing death preferred
To the weight of their chains

The blood of the gods
In the flesh of a man
With a soul too ancient to burn
We must always remember
The strength and the call
Of the blood of the gods
That lives on in us all
Blood of the gods
That lives on in us all

Transformed by sacrifice
His spirit burned into memory
A symbol of vengeance
Pride and destiny
We will embrace our legacy

Atlacatl
Atlacatl
The blood of the gods
In the flesh of a man
Atlacatl
The blood of the gods
In the flesh of a man
It’s the blood of the gods
That lives on in us all
